Don't go without any insurance- Make sure you're covered with Short-Term Medical

Short-Term Medical

  • Pros and Cons

    • Plans often have deductibles, co-insurance, and in some cases copays.

      • Usually more affordable than traditional insurance (unless you qualify for a tax credit on ACA plans)

      • Usually suitable for healthy individuals looking for a lower-cost alternative.

    • Plans are usually limited in duration from one month to four months, maximum.  Some companies combine multiple plans to allow for up to almost one year.

      • Pre-existing conditions and maternity usually not covered

      • Limited preventive care

      • Usually covers only new injury or new illness.

    • Read plan brochures and details carefully before purchasing to understand what is and is not covered.

All Hands In

HealthCare Sharing Ministry (HCSM)

  • Shared Beliefs:

    • HCSMs are built on the foundation of members sharing a common set of religious or ethical beliefs.

  • Cost Sharing:

    • Members contribute a monthly share to the ministry, which is then used to pay for other members' medical bills.

  • Not Insurance:

    • HCSMs are not insurance companies and do not guarantee payment for medical claims.

  • Potential Benefits:

    • HCSMs can be less expensive than traditional health insurance, particularly for those not eligible for subsidies.

Leg Injury

Accident & Critical Illness

  • Some individuals choose not to get health insurance due to the monthly cost.  This is not recommended.  However, if you do make this choice, consider having at least a basic Accident plan and possibly a Critical Illness plan.

  • These ancillary plans can provide a base level of financial protection against the unexpected accident, injury or major critical incident such as a heart attack, stroke, or cancer.

  • Read plan brochures and details carefully before purchasing to understand what is and is not covered.
